FAQ
Is Propecia (Finasteride) dangerous? What about side effects?
Propecia is one of the most researched and effective medications for male pattern baldness and has been used medically for over 25 years. Millions of men worldwide have been treated with it, and it is considered first-line treatment according to professional guidelines.
The main concern around the medication is sexual side effects. Clinical studies found that about 3.8%–4.4% of patients reported some sexual side effect, compared with 2.1%–2.2% in the placebo group — an absolute difference of only about 2%.
Is PRP / iPRF suitable for every patient?
PRP can be effective in certain hair-loss and thinning cases, but it is not suitable for every patient or every type of hair loss. Suitability is determined after medical diagnosis and assessment of the scalp and hair.
Is all hair loss genetic?
No. Hair loss can result from many factors, including hormonal changes, nutritional deficiencies, underlying conditions, stress, medications, and scalp diseases. Proper medical diagnosis is important before starting treatment.
Can lost hair grow back?
It depends on the cause and the condition of the hair follicles. When follicles are still active, significant density improvement is often possible. Early evaluation and treatment are therefore important.
How soon are hair treatment results visible?
Hair growth is slow and requires patience. Initial improvement often appears after several months, while more meaningful results usually appear after 6–12 months, depending on the condition and chosen treatment.
Can botulinum toxin treat hyperhidrosis?
Yes. Botulinum toxin is one of the most effective treatments for focal hyperhidrosis, especially in the underarms. It blocks the nerve signal that activates sweat glands and significantly reduces sweating in the treated area. The treatment is FDA-approved for primary axillary hyperhidrosis when topical products are not enough.
How long does the treatment last?
Most patients enjoy a significant reduction in sweating for about 6–7 months, and some report a longer effect. Treatment can be repeated when sweating returns, and over time the duration of effect may even lengthen.
Will the body compensate with more sweating elsewhere?
No. A common question is whether reducing underarm sweating causes more sweating on the back, abdomen, or other areas.
The answer is no. Botulinum toxin acts only where injected and does not cause compensatory hyperhidrosis. That phenomenon is mainly associated with ETS surgery, not botulinum toxin treatment.
Who are hair treatments suitable for?
Hair treatments are suitable for women and men with hair loss, thinning, genetic baldness, postpartum shedding, shedding related to illness or nutritional deficiencies, and various scalp conditions. Correct diagnosis is the basis for choosing the right treatment.
Does minoxidil really work?
Yes. Minoxidil is one of the most researched and effective treatments for hair loss and slowing thinning. It prolongs the hair growth phase and improves blood supply to follicles. Results vary between patients and require long-term consistency.
Does every patient need injections?
No. Sometimes the main issue is skin quality, pigmentation, melasma, or uneven texture. In many cases significant improvement is possible with advanced skin treatments and without injections.
How will I know which treatment is right for me?
Every treatment begins with a consultation and diagnosis. Together we clarify your needs, goals, and expectations, and build a personalized plan.
Is downtime needed after treatments?
Most aesthetic treatments do not require significant downtime, and daily routine can usually resume the same day. Some treatments may cause temporary redness, mild swelling, or peeling depending on the procedure.
When should I seek evaluation for hair loss?
When you notice reduced density, a widening part, increased shedding in the shower or on the pillow, or any meaningful change in hair appearance over time.
Is hair loss reversible?
In many cases hair loss can be slowed and significantly improved, especially when the cause is diagnosed early and suitable treatment begins. Professional diagnosis matters more than relying only on general products or advice.
Why treat skin texture and not only wrinkles?
Skin texture strongly affects facial appearance. Even successful injection treatments can look incomplete if skin is uneven, pigmented, or scarred. Improving skin quality is often the most important step.
Can pigmentation and melasma be treated?
Yes. Advanced treatments can meaningfully improve pigmentation and melasma. Care is personalized according to pigment type, depth, and skin type.
What is the difference between Botox and fillers?
Botox relaxes muscles that cause expression wrinkles, such as forehead and frown lines. Fillers restore volume, contour, and support in areas such as lips, cheeks, and jawline.
At what age should aesthetic treatments start?
There is no single age for everyone. The decision depends on skin condition, facial structure, and personal goals. Early treatments can sometimes help prevent later age-related changes.
Do aesthetic treatments create an unnatural look?
Not at all. The approach is to preserve each patient's natural, unique appearance. The goal is to refresh, balance, and highlight existing beauty — not to change facial features.
What are biostimulators and how do they work?
Biostimulators encourage the body to produce collagen naturally. Unlike fillers that add volume immediately, biostimulators work gradually and improve skin quality, firmness, and elasticity over time.
What is the difference between biostimulators and fillers?
Hyaluronic acid fillers provide immediate volume and contour. Biostimulators work through natural collagen production to improve tissue quality itself. The two are often combined for optimal results.
When do results start to appear?
Unlike fillers, results are not immediate. Collagen building is gradual, so improvement begins after several weeks and continues for months after treatment.
If I want to look younger, why not just add more filler?
With age, not only volume changes — natural collagen and skin quality also decline. The solution is often not more volume, but restoring and strengthening the tissue. Biostimulators work with the body to produce new collagen for a fresher, healthier look over time.
Can Botox help with teeth grinding and jaw clenching?
Yes. Botulinum toxin is an effective, accepted treatment for overactivity of the chewing muscles, especially in bruxism and jaw clenching.
It is injected into the chewing muscles, usually the masseter, reducing contraction force. This can ease jaw pain, dental load, related headaches, and long-term tooth wear.
Does the treatment change facial appearance?
When chewing muscles are enlarged from overactivity, treatment may gradually create a softer, narrower jawline. The primary goal remains medical — reducing muscle load and grinding symptoms — and every plan is personalized to keep a natural, harmonious look.
Can acne scars be treated years after acne is gone?
Yes. Even years later, scar appearance can improve significantly with advanced treatments that support skin renewal and collagen production. The approach depends on scar type, depth, and skin condition.
